About Me
Hi, I'm Rachel, I live in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast with my Husband and my 2 beautiful little boys, Noah and Darcy. We like to spend almost every morning and evening at Tallebudgera creek, walking, swimming or having a picnic.
I'm also a Health & Physical Education Teacher, so I like to think I'm pretty good at giving directions (If you want them!).
I grew up in country Victoria, where I liked to would spend a lot of my time outdoors, enjoying anything active, with bushwalking being a favourite. When I finished Uni, I moved to Hamilton Island to live my dream island life (for 6 months).
I then spent 6 years working and travelling overseas. I started working a Counsellor and Outdoor Ed Teacher at a Summer Camp in America, Then I did a ski season in Canada (where I learned to snowboard). I taught English as an Au pair in Italy, and then as a Governess in Russia. I worked as a holiday nanny in the French Alps (for another ski season). Next, I was a nanny/dogsitter in England (and travelled abroad a lot on weekends). I missed Australia, so I took a job as a stewardess on a super yacht on Sydney Harbour (I found the boat a bit boring). I then moved to Thursday Island to work as a teacher again! I then went to India to complete my Yoga Teacher Training (although I don't have time to teach atm, I make sure to practice every day). I worked in Melbourne again for a few months, before doing another ski season in Austria.
It was in 2018 when I decided to pack my car in Victoria and make the move to the Gold Coast. Here I met my Husband (James) and other than some overseas holidays, I haven't left!
I started working as a Teacher again, and completed my Masters in Guidance Counselling.
It was through my travels where my love for photography first began (I wish I had owned a camera!). I love that like meditation, photography is another way I am able to really enjoy the present moment and take notice of the beauty in every day.
Before having my boys, I was up every morning to watch the sunrise (and take a photo or two).
I'll forever be that person stopping to take a photo!
So let me take yours!
